People Are Funny 541026 Buying A Hamburger. (retro270)

Reality programming, 1950’s style. Art Linkletter and his crew have a few pranks to pull just to see how funny people can be. First up, Art has a $1000 bill. The mission is to use this legitimate article of US currency to make a simple purchase. To complicate matters, the audience member has his own cash taken away, and is dressed like a bum. Can he do it? His ordeal is related later in the show.

After a sponsor plug, a car salesman and his wife have their love challenged. Can his salesman skills prevent his wife from the attentions of an amorous cow? His efforts are doomed when Art brings in a ringer to damage his efforts.

A man volunteers for a special stunt. With no money, he is challenged to take a bucket of French perfume back to France. Can he do it? Unfortunately, his challenge will extend over the next week, so we won’t find out. After another sponsor break, we follow up with our first challenge. He definitely tried his best. Listen in an see whether he won his big prize or not.

      Aw, come on Jimbo. 🙂 I kno2 2hat you mean though, the shows are the kind of funny where you need to let them set for a few months, before listening again to keep them fresh. The humor of the stunts were over the top for the times, but a little against political correctness sensitivities of today.
