Wahoo! It’s time once again for the Jello program, starring Jack Benny. Back in New York Jack seems speechless over his reception back in town. Don and Jack compare notes on how the scenery of East is greater than the West. Mary and Kenny get in on the conversation a little late, and a little confused. Johnny Green arrives to talk with Jack about his new baby then plays a tune.
Jack talks with Johnny about his mucial ability. A man knocks at the door wanting a job playing violin on the show. Schlepperman drops in to tell about a movie he just made, and his travels. Kenny Baker sings, Awake in a Dream.
Jack reads a fan letter requesting a play that even the kiddies can enjoy. He puts his own spin on Cinderella. Not having enough women in the cast, he does it featuring men. Thus, cinderallen is born. To transition to the play, Johnny plays, Doing the Prom.
Jack is the downtrodden step child. Mary Kelley is the stepmom. For a fairy godfather, Don plays it kind of sinister. I suppose that is about right for a gangster style godfather. With a little extra magic from the sponsor, Jack is transformed and goes to the ball. Mary plays the blase princess, until “Toots” Charming arives. The day is saved when Schlepperman arrives. Isn’t it always?
