Fibber rushes home all excited, because hehas written a song that he thinks will be a big hit. He already has a name for it, Fibber’s Tune. The Old Timer drops in, and brags about his own song writing prowess. Billy Mills plays, A Fella with An Umbrella.
Fibber plans to enter his song in a contest when Foggy Williams visits. It seems that even Foggy has tried his hand at song writing. Fibber begins to sing his song, but can’t get a note in edgewise around Harlow’s commercial. Teeny is out of school early so stops in for a few words with Fibber. He makes some head way in singing his song to her, but she has to run. The Kingsmen sing, Fibbers Tune.
Now Fibber plans to get his song played across the country when Doc Gamble visits for some good natured name calling. The Summer replacement program for the McGee’s was to be a musical one by Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians. After recieving the plug, Fibber phones to push his song. Amazingly, he doesn’t talk to Myrt. In closing, Molly helps Fibber sing the chorus. They really do have nice singing voices, singing was part of their original Vaudeville act as well as their earlier radio show called “Smack Out.”
